I was really worried they wouldn't be able to stick the landing on the series, but I was blown out of the water by this ending. Also I have suffered permanent Emotional Damage from bawling my eyes out.

Yes! I don't understand the hate for the ending either, I'm glad I was right to expect you to be able to appreciate it.

Vendacator

It was beautiful all the way through

I'm glad they kept the manga ending, at first I didn't like it when it came out, but now as I go back and watch it here, I can to appreciate the ending in a way

My only problem with the AOT ending was the Manga chapter was terribly paced, and that credit sequence was added like 6 months after the final chapter. The anime fixed everything

The fact that you've binged it over the past year as opposed to watching it over the last 10 years just means the trauma is fresher for you. So I don't think that makes your tears any less warranted than for others - in fact, it's more understandable - and we already know that's who you are.

I think this was the best ending there could've been. Even though we knew that the ending wasn't going to be all flowers and sunshine, it was still bitter-sweet. Most of the people that I've heard at least that didn't like the ending iis because they either wanted it to be a complete happy ending or everybody hates Eren for what he did. My personal opinion is that Eren didn't want it to end this way but also didn't have that many choices either. He also has needs and want, just like a human has. He wanted the best for the people he loved and knew, and this was about the only options he had. People tend to forget this at times and make him out to be this heartless monster. This is the best ending I personally think there could have been. They were never going to be a completely happy ending, and everybody eren loved knew he thought this was the best option and wanted them to be happy. These are my opinions like I said.

The Cycle never ends

GildedGrimoire

I like how even after Paradis gets blown up by rockets and it seems like humanity is over they choose to show that no, actually humanity will live on no matter the trials and tribulations we may face today, there is always hope for the future.

So, we're not going to address that the black guy flying the plane lived? I don't think Alicia actually noticed. LOL

Fun little detail in the credits that I missed the first time: when we see Mikasa bringing a family to Eren's grave. Just before that, we see the passage of time. After Mikasa leaves, the seasons change, and then years go by. We see seven winters go past, before she shows up with a family. And remember that this epilogue starts three years after the battle. She mourned him for ten years before moving on.

Was going to wait till after you enjoyed it. I liked the ending and it was everything it could be. But I got to say. The release and how the episodes came out killed the momentum and motion for me. Like I have no complaints outside of this not releasing with the last episode

Controversial or not im so glad aot ended with the worst ending imaginable, the glazing this show got made it even sweeter.

I think AoT is a story about making sense of the chaos and violence of life.

And... so it begins once more.

The nuking thing was what people didn’t like, highkey. But tbf in the manga, civilization did NOT grow to that point before they were nuked into oblivion.
