I dissasoitiated a bit at the beginning. Because I would leave the company after one week. Sure I have the luxus to find another job anyway in no time. But he should also have this luxus. He was on a university and graded on it. So I had to forcefully emphatyse to the whole premise. But still great 1st Episode :)

It's already been mentioned that this is BUG Films' debut, but there's a really interesting story behind some of what was in this episode. It's more than just a commentary of exploitative companies, especially in Japan, but is also apparently a slam against OLM Studios and their exploitative practices, from which many of the animators at BUG Films used to be employed. This is because it has been said that the office that Akira used to work at was modeled directly off of the offices of OLM Studios.

I like this anime but the one thing that really bugs me about it is that we're supposed feel sorry for the MC and be happy for them when they're finally free, which I'm on board with, but then they also give us a woman who is forced to sleep with her boss (because that office behind closed door dialogue makes it pretty clear she's not willing) and frame it like we're supposed to feel bad for the MC because he liked her. Honestly I felt way more for her than I did for the MC and would have loved to see her get away and have a happy apocalypse, but they did her dirty
