Thank you for the content, Queen :3 On the topic of people not enjoying this Arc, I guess it's the Jojo's thing, where people have been exposed to a lot of the later stuff and the anticipation ruins the slower beginning for them.

Gamer Kane

There is a large portion of people who came in at the latter half of One Piece or even the current arc and thus they see old one piece as worse. I'm part of what I hope isn't the minority who loves early One Piece more than current even if the Sanji and Ussop arcs aren't my favourite.

You A Cute Bitch! LOL, You Made me say it.

When I first watched this it was the first to be continued that actually got a full blown reaction out of me cause I had to get to school and couldn't watch another episode till after.

It’s very interesting that people don’t like this arc, this was the arc that solidified that I would be with one piece for the long haul, as well as another arc later on. (But that might also just be because I immediately got attached to Sanji) As far as the morality of feeding people who have done awful things, if I was a server or cook as a restaurant I would feed them and then probably feel guilty about it on my own later. I mean working customer service in the past I’ve already done that before even if they were directly rude to me. One on one without the context of a job, I most likely would not feed them. I love that that is the point that Zeff is making in the show though. Luckily I have never been starved before so it feels easy for me to think about that. But I wonder if I had been on the brink before if my thoughts would be different

Liberty

Hey Alicia, are you thinking that you'll react to the One Piece Live Action trailer? It doesn't have spoilers for where you are at (or at least, not ones you'll pick up without context, and like, maybe two of those, if that) and it'd be interesting to see someone new to One Piece's POV on it. Don't feel you must, but I just figured I'd ask! Love your reactions as always! <3

To show the power of swordmanship, I sawed this boat in half!

Honestly, I'm a fan of all the arcs, at least in the manga where the pacing is basically as fast as I can read so it doesn't take days to go through one arc. They get better as they go of course, but that's kinda what every good series does. Now as far as people magically healing super fast, it's for comedic effect but it's also canon. They recognize it's ridiculous, but have 0 canon explanation for it. It won't be the first or last time someone eats food or takes a nap and suddenly bursts into full health, just don't think too hard about it

Liberty

My moral line? I'd be dead. :/ I'm far too nice for my own good. I'm AWARE of that, but I'd still do it. orz

Soul_XIII

lesgoooooooooooo more onepiece

Local gigachad has arrived at the Baratie

I feel that's a fair moral standpoint. Being good should always be weighed against the danger to oneself. I'd serve them after creating a safer environment take their weapons or handcuff them.

Shykiba

Thanks for another lovely episode Alicia!~ ^w^ honestly don't feel worried about morals and taking a stance with One Piece (though a few fans will deny it) One Piece is an entire series filled with Moral Grey Areas almost nothing is black and white as you've probably noticed~ That being said Fun Fact of The Post!~: 1.) The creator gives key 'pirate' tropes to characters that he feels have significance! With Zeff we have the Peg Leg!~

Elizabeth McLaughlin

Yeah, I think people are unnecessarily harsh on the early arcs. My normal statement is that One Piece gets better, but it doesn't change it's essence. Oda was 24 when he started, so the improvements are him maturing as an author not a change in the base formula. And I think in terms of morality, I think Oda is hoping we end up on the same side as Sanji - we can't change the actions of other people, but we can choose to be kind. And that's what sets apart Luffy and his crew from most other pirate crews, at the end of the day they are kind even if it's to their detriment.

Soul_XIII

two episodes aint enough fr fr .... we demande more

SimplyMocha

Gets home from work, eat breakfast watch Alicia watch One Piece has been a good rhythm

leviathan_13

46:08 You missed the reason why Ghin got mad... Zeff suggested that a possible reason why Hawk-Eye destroyed their fleet was because they disturbed his nap.

Its become my routine to wake up and watch One Piece with some cute bitch before I start my day. Thanks for the reactions!

I love your reactions to this. Chef describes actual war crimes, "Oh so he's just tactical!"

Liesmith

Next ep is one of the legendary eps of One Piece!

JibJibs

In the manga, the cooks threatened Sanji with guns not goofy ahh giant cooking utensils.

Serith

Hey hey! Are you all hungry for more Trivia? What's that? You are? Well then you are in luck because that's the house special, so pull up a chair and get ready to have your trivia bellies filled, it's STRAW wHAT TRIVIA! The gluten free... uh I mean, the SPOILER FREE One Piece trivia show!!! Episode 22 Krieg you say? That's funny because that's also the German word for war. What a perfect name for a warmongering jerk like him. An early concept-draft of Krieg depicted him as a cyborg named "Krieg - 9000". Not that impressive, maybe if it was a model newer. But as a human Don Krieg has to eat and it seems that Krieg's favorite food is roasted Sea King. Well, too bad for him Sanji won't make it for him. Episode 23 Even if you are really hungry don't order the Meatball of Doom, the cook Patty will shoot you with a crazy lobster shaped handheld cannon. In japanese it was called the "Shokuatari Meatball". That means "indigestion meatball". That's even less appetizing! Here's some real trivial trivia. In the manga, Luffy stayed "employed" at the Baratie for two days before Don Krieg arrived. In the anime, it is four days. So I guess that means that, in the anime Luffy probably broke twice as many dishes and stole twice as much food. Well, I hope your Trivia was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. That'll be ten-million berries please. What's that? It's too expensive. Well too bad, you've already had it. Oh but don't worry Alicia-chan, for you it's free. o ( ♡ヮ♡ ) o

Shadowsofpain

Mihalk pulling out the knife for that duel was like someone walking up to a fighting game tournament beating everyone easily and then saying "I don't even play this game"

millecamps

damn it i'm getting short on berry you think the baratie is seeking for waiter?

Liesmith

In real life, my moral compass is generally to provide food/water/medicine for anyone who needs it, even if they're horrible, as long as they aren't an immediate danger to others. No matter how evil someone is, a prison cell can typically hold them without any problems. In anime, where people can be so powerful that one man can take out an army barehanded? Nah, shank that fucker while he's helpless. And if someone has a reputation for raising the white flag so they can get close enough to commit murder, then I don't give a fuck if they claim to be starving: yeetus deletus.

christian garcia

Fun fact about this episode as they said on the episode the reason Hawkeyes attack them is because they distributed his nap

Jorden Powell

I wonder how long it'll be until you also look up and memorize the first fre lines of we are in both Japanese and English. Is someone asks if I can speak other languages I always have to add that i know how to say "gather up your hopes and dreams and set off in search of something to find" in Japanese and its always like.... why lol thats so specific

OscarGrump

As someone who loved One Piece from the start I don’t get the “it gets better” I mean, yeah, it gets way more crazy and fights get more intense and etc. but for me it was great to begin with. I do admit tho that the next arc is what really set it in stone for me that I’m sticking with this for the long run.

Anonymous

I think I’d serve the murderer if I was alone and if he kills me. Well the games the game

MaxRenRez

Honestly, I don't think I have much room to talk in calling anyone dumb. I'm about as intelligent as a traffic cone. You may think I look bright, but it takes about 5 seconds to find out this old melon of mine is pretty hollow.

Helen of Boy

I do miss Sanji's intro from the manga. Guy shows up with a hand in one pocket, balancing a plate in one hand and another on his head. When Fullbody pulls the insect trick he asks (at least in the Viz translation) "What's this insect doing in my soup?" and Sanji replies "It's hard to say... I think it's the backstroke?"
