To be fair Ant, your experience with religion is colored by living in a country that was literally founded by religious extremists. ^^; Here in Germany christianity is basically a background vibe, but basically nobody goes to church every week or stuff like that.

Baptists are from England iirc. Anabaptists are from the Netherlands Switzerland and the Holy Roman Empire. Anabaptists later formed other groups like the Amish and Mennonites. While there is something to be said for being completely unpredictable, I think it's a sign that Araki is improving as a writer that you guys have been able to more consistently predict things in this part. It means that a lot of the outcomes are more logical and the story led you to that point better. Predictability can be just as satisfying as unpredictability.

In the manga Jolyne is a homophope because she insulted Foo Fighers with "You have never thrown a ball before. You look like such a queer" (Im trans and bisexual i can say it) But yeah, weird times. Although there is evidence to prove that Jolyne is Pansexual that comes later this season so she might have the right to say it idk.

The religious Puritans were never a majority though, it’s more the fact of some places in the country are heavily religious and that usually comes down to how the community is. Beelz there is no evidence that change was made by the editors, araki never said anything about it eighter, what he did syy in 2019 was that "they" were meant to exist out of the gender binary from the characters inception, proving that they are Genderfluid, and we know he gave the anime permission to portray them however they wanted to, its just that the anime chose the safe route unfortunately

Oh dont worry, i am not taking this aginst araki, this was made in 2003 for gods sake obviously it would have that language and they clearly learned their lesson by not including it in the anime
