Ymir was 100% lying… you can even go back and watch the scene where Reiner convinces her to come with them. They straight up tell her that they can’t guarantee her own safety. It was the prospect of Historia’s safety that convinced Ymir. Nothing about their deal had anything to do with her trading over Historia for her own life. It was all lie to get Historia to come with them, because Historia never would’ve agreed if she knew she was actually the one being protected.

Absolute banger episode, holy shit. There is so much going on in this one. Erwin the GOAT, doesn't even stop barking orders for a second when the titan gets him, he's 100% ready to give his life for the cause if that's what it comes to. Everything Bartholomew is saying has layers to it, it's crazy. I kind wanna point out certain lines that become important later but then again I shouldn't so I won't. Jean. Jean, my boy. I love Jean so much. Him and honestly Reiner are probably my favourite characters, though for very different reasons. Finale coming up, let's gooo!!
