Hell yeah, things are getting real exciting! Fun fact about the castle they're at: it's called Utgard Castle, right? Well in norse mythology Útgarðar, anglicized as Utgardar, literally "the Outyards", is a stronghold of the jötnar, the giants. It is the home of Útgarða-Loki, a giant who challenge Thor, Loki, Þjálfi and Röskva to perform feats to earn their stay at the stronghold. The contests include Þjálfi racing a jötun named Hugi, Loki having an eating contest with a jötun named Logi and Thor attempting to lift Útgarða-Loki's cat. And despite all the Æsir just barely failing their challenges, Útgarða-Loki allows them to stay and treats them with hospitality. Once the Æsir leave Útgarða-Loki is revealed to be Skrýmnir (a giant Thor had failed to kill) who further reveals that all the contests were illusions; Loki actually tried to out eat the wildi"Logi" meaning "flame"), Þjálfi tried to outrun thought ("Hugi" meaning "thought") and the cat Thor had tried to lift was in fact the world serpent Jörmungandr who slithers around the entire world and the jötun had all been terrified to see that Thor had in fact manage to lift one paw off the ground. Long story short, the castle is named after the stronghold of a giant who was a master of illusions who made things appear to not be as they were. Make of that what you will. btw, Ymir is also the name of a jötun but I'll hold off on talking about that one for a while if the name is not familiar already. Final aside, that fucked up line about Nanaba's father? Pretty sure that was invented for the anime and wasn't even in the manga.

Well not really, Christa wants to die just for the sake of dying but make it justifiable with heroism or some other bullshit meanwhile Ymir is protecting her friends and actually has the capability to do so.

Not sure if Isayama had a say in what was added to the anime or not, but that scene with her was horrifying to see. Definitely added more depth.

Season 2 has some of the best rewatchable moments. So many important story points are firmly developed here and it's all so well written the foreshadowing is masterful on a second viewing. Hope you are enjoying it so far, looking forward to you catching up.

Ymir was bothering Connie on purpose, he was thinking too much about his family and she made him feel dumb so he’d stop worrying. That’s why Reiner said he’d appreciate it if she kept doing that, to distract him since normal comfort wasn’t working. Ymir isn’t a bitch for no reason, it’s a strategy. It might make her less likable but I seriously doubt she cares lol
