Perhaps better than any crew member except possibly Chopper at this point in the story, Zoro embodies his role as First Mate. In many ways I'd argue he holds together the crew better than Luffy and is relied upon nearly as much.

One thing I'd like to point out in this fight it's the only time we get to see a fight from the perspective of Usopp's opponent. An opponent sees him for what he really is, an extremely strategic, skillful, and surprising enemy. Versus what Usopp's internal thoughts make him out to be.
