2023-06-07 12:50:52 Dragonheart was a novelty for its time (oo, Sean Connery! Real CGI dragons! 🙄), but the script is still WAYYY more 90’s goofy than it had a right to be, then or now.. 🤦‍♂️ 1981’s “Dragonslayer” has been on streaming forever, just recently came out on Blu, and still gives us a realistic Celtic Dark Ages, and one of the nastiest dragons practical effects ever created. And it’s nice to see the Reactor-verse finally standing up to the righteous Woke-teen stigma and doing a 70’s Woody Allen: There’s been some Annie Hall and serious 80’s-Woody, but no one’s yet gone down the silly mid-70’s rabbit hole. Not sure if Everything is the one to start with, as I always push for Love & Death, but you have to know your joke reference material for that one.
