My favorite little clue is the the portrait slowly changes from no smiles and as they get closer to the truth the smile shows slowly and when the truth fully came out the portrait has a full smile

I've been waiting a long time to have this film under your scrutiny; love to see those mental wheels spinning. I was surprised by such a low rating after all the things you said, considering you never mentioned anything negative. It's a seriously well-crafted, well cast, well-directed whodunit, in my opinion.
