Gotta hand it to Danny Devito to create a character so gross and completely unlikeable...and yet you kind of feel sorry for him.

Technically, DeVito and the screenwriter absolutely NAIL the classic wisecracking Penguin from the comics, complete with his tastes for bird motif and tricked-out umbrellas. (Which seemed to be missing from recent Colin Farrell movies.😡) But, reportedly, Tim Burton didn’t find him an “interesting” character, and threw his own meddling deviation from the script to give Oswald yet another default Tim Burton “Misunderstood oddball outcast!” subplot, and basically turned the canonical character into Edward Sewerhands.

Not sure if Michael is the best Batman or not but he did a good job. Michelle Pfeifer did the best job as Catwoman though.
