I don't think I have ever seen someone watch this without initially knowing that the story involved vampires/werewolves. It definitely made it a more interesting watch. :)

I really enjoyed your reaction! I hope you'll watch the rest of the series. You are not the only one who thought Bella would have been better played by a different actress. But, in Kristen Stewart's defense, the character is supposed to be awkward.

If you keep watching the series, you will see the wolves ;)

So refreshing to have a reactor actually react to this movie honestly, instead of the "let's make fun of this movie because that's the popular thing to do and that gets views" that I mostly see on Youtube these days for this movie. That's why I watch your reactions. Yes, the books are better, and yes the movies mis a couple of things, but they are pretty decent for what they are. A 6.5 is probably a good score for this movie. The awkwardness is actually pretty spot on for her character, she is supposed to be awkward and clumsy in this movie. At this point in time, the relationship is supposed to be a a little off. Anyway, hope you react to the rest of the movies as well, looking forward to seeing them.

Twilight to me will always hold a special spot in my heart, the movies are absolutely tinged with nostalgia. The cringe factor definitely comes from the prolonged stares and the inexplicably long and drawn out shots used throughout the series. I dont know what it is about these films though, I always find myself rewatching them every year, its like a bad craving I cant ditch. This series was such a phenomenon, brought back the vampire/werewolf interest and created an uproar of media that would capitalize on the vampire/werewolf thing til the public got tired of it. For a couple of years after Twilight, the amount of vampire shows, and werewolf movies were nuts. Also, the Twilight lore while being so weird I always found ridiculously interesting cuz of the one line where Edward says "everything about me is designed to invite you in", the sparkling, the smell, the voice, he's supposed to unattainably perfect looking to lure his victims in.

It was amusing to watch you try to figure out exactly what species they were I’ve already seen so many reactions where the person already knows what the series did about before they even start Watching.

"oh, he's a superhero!" 😂 can't belive that you knew absolutely nothing about the story. Props to you! however you managed it. It was really fun watching this which you because you were so clueless. Seeing it today is really cringe but also so nostalgic at the same time. These books and movies were a big topic with all the young girls my age for years. The number one question in the schoolyard was always, "Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?" Hope you will see the next parts. It would be a pity if you do not complete the series now.

Not throwing shade on Twilight, but True Blood came out the same year and was a huge phenomenon itself. Though, obviously, True Blood was designed for adults. The Southern Vampire books (that True Blood was based on) were quite popular before Stephanie Meyer’s wrote Twilight. Again, different audience. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was extremely popular with young people and a fair number of adults. Personally, I always preferred the original film it was based on. And then there’s Anne Rice, whose audience was massive way before all of them. But I know that Twilight brought vampires and werewolves to a new generation of teens and tweens who wouldn’t be familiar with all of those. And it led to a couple popular TV series targeted to that young audience.

Ooo yes, i totally forgot about Buffy and True Blood. But I guess i was thinking more on what kick started it for a pre-teen/teen demographic (which is where I stood when Twilight came out), but I think what you said perfectly encapsulates what i was thinking, it really did bring the vampire/werewolf genre to a new generation of tweens.
