The scene in the train station (with the guys following her and the guy on the bike) is not supposed to be funny, it IS supposed to be creepy. The guy on the bike thought Geet was a hooker cuz she was standing at the corner with the other prostitutes. Thats why she says 'I'm not one of them' but the guy thinks she's like playing hard to get or whatever. Creepy, yes, but thats the point. Also, I'm pretty sure Shahid and Kareena Kapoor were together at the time of this movie, or got together soon after this movie, thats proabably why their chemistry feels so tangible.
