Again, the movie (from the Naked Gun writers) was a deliberate labor-of-love remake of the 30's Marx Brothers in "A Night at the Opera": For those who don't know--and we now have two generations who don't--the Marxes were a trio of silly burlesque comics: Groucho was the pompous John Turturro motormouth-punster, Chico was a dim English-mangling Italian who always had a scam going, and Harpo was a crazy circus-clown who only "spoke" in whistles and bike horns.
