Abuela: more afraid than selfish. I can't see that as "evil", just misguided; she couldn't see beyond the miracle, so she held on to it for, literally, dear life. If you haven't learned already, The songs were by Lin-Manuel Miranda, also of "Hamilton" fame. For more in this vein, "In the Heights" is a recommendation.

Hahaha good intro xD. No i dont want to know my future. Not knowing gives you hopes and dreams. If you for example, knew that your dream would come true, maybe you would work not as hard for it and that way, you change your future. Maybe because you would not work as hard, you wont reach your dream anymore. Or what if you dont have a future? What if it says you die soon. No. Dont wanna know xD. Let life be a mystery, its more fun that way. - I think the reason Maribel wasnt given a gift, is because the miracle knew this would happen and that she was the key to mend this family again. At the end, she was given a doorknob by her family. As symbolism etc. But they didnt know that the miracle would come back again. - I also want to point out that Abuela was never jealous. She realized Maribel was the miracle right before they hugged. She didnt know about it before. She was afraid to lose the miracle, the second chance she was given. She hold on to it so tight, proving they deserved the miracle by being perfect and helping the town. That she was forgetting and not seeing. Abuela's gift was opening her eyes. But she was closing them with the years. And when Maribel yelled at her, that she was the reason the miracle was dying, it opened her eyes again. This movie came out on the 24th of December and i watched it last week for the first time. I enjoyed it more the second time. The first time i thought the music was good but not great. But now i really like the music! Sometimes you have to watch or listen to things more to appreciate and understand it. The story and message are beautiful.

I don't think I'd ever want to know what happens in my future. Because if I did and found out that it was something bad I would keep worrying about when it was going to happen.
