A lot of people didn't like this movie because Turner or Swann wasn't in it, but honestly, while I do love their performance and story, I mainly care only for Jack. So, because of Jack alone, I do actually enjoy this movie. While I'm still able to easily follow the plot, I do agree after re-watching it that there is too much going on. My favorite scene was the one with mermaids, which was the scene with indeed the most action, and Depp definitely carried this movie. I didn't like what they did to Barbossa until the moment he explain what had happened which made me love how they actually did that (the accents is something I never noticed until you catched it). I didn't care for Blackbeard's (he is still a cool character though) or his daughter's story, and adding the Spanish wasn't necessary. Also, I'm glad Gibbs was in the movie as he was the only original character other than Jack and Barbossa (and Jack the monkey). That said, while watching your reaction, I do find there are parts to be lacking, and while I still enjoyed the movie, there was so much they could have done better and differently.

Captain Sparrow

I think this film is great... but when compared to the first 3 is when is looks less than adequate unfortunately. It makes a great film by itself tho, so I try to look at it in that light.
