There's definitely the influence of new female writers and execs at Disney-- Not just the princess scene, where Snow White is made to look like a lunatic (for those who don't know, feminists hate her for cleaning cottages and singing about princes), and Ralph is climactically, tarred, feathered, strapped to Sleeping Beauty's bed in Snow White’s dress and made to kiss the Princess's Frog...What, what'd he do?? But also the happy ending, where Vanellope finally gets to leave Sugar Rush, and self-realize her ambitions becoming a new racer in Slaughter Race... Um, with the first movie fresh in our minds, wasn't that technically called "going Turbo"?

You asked if there's a movie similar to this... well the obvious answer is that The Wreck it Ralph series is basically just Toy Story where the video characters come to life when nobody is watching instead of regular toys.

I hear what you're saying, but I think the important point is how they behaved after "going turbo".

Your last comments really struck a chord with me, Dillon. Having had the experience for part of my earlier life, it rings true. I have also seen that situation between married couples, when one spouse is confronted with the loss of the partner they relied on too heavily. Some deep life lessons from this "cartoon", eh, mate?

JIM SCHMITZ

Oh, ya, that little reference to the "other" studio. The princess from "Brave" was a Pixar character.

I cried in the theatre when Ralph gave the speech about needing to let vanellope go. I was struggling with being very dependent on my bf instead of having my own things going on and this movie helped me very much.
