Actually...Friend grew more popular the longer it was on. People were still loving it when it went off the air in 2004. Yes, The Big Bang Theory definitely ran it's course, but that didn't happen with Friends. Friends actually ended because the actors wanted to quit to do different things. Jennifer Anniston wanted to transition to movies, for example. Also at the time there was a big controversy because the actors, toward the end of the show, were the highest paid in television history per episode. Obviously this figure has been surpassed now. However, back then they made 1 million/episode, which was a lot for a 30 minute sitcom. They were kind of vilified by the press for that. The public wanted the show to continue and I remember the finale was a really big deal. The even had an aftershow for it and it's all people talked about for a few weeks after. It was the actor that decided to end it.

I think they call the episodes "The one with..." because people never remember the titles of an episode, but they always remember the plot. Like "Hey, do you remember the episode where Ross gets hit in the face with a hockey puck??"😂 Side note: Hot apple cider is amazing and you two need to try it!
