Never saw this 1975 version but i really enjoyed the remake

The remake completely left out the future corporate setting, which was the whole POINT of the original, or the idea that the future “peaceful” society wasn’t as non-violent as it thought it was.

Dillon, get some rest and plenty of fluids. As a first-time viewer also, I found this multi-leveled, almost poetic, study of power and personal freedom thought-provoking. It especially resonates with the growth of corporate power here and now. Do we surrender our choices to a handful of all-powerful persons in exchange for guaranteed comfort, safety and convenience? That said, what's next...?
