Toonman Villain: Paprika (Patreon)

WHAT UP GUYS??!! You're in for a special Patreon treat, because you're getting a first look at a new major character for Toonman. This here is Paprika, Toonman's first love in the human world with the power of fire at her fingertips!

ORIGIN

The first love of Toonman within the human world. Carmen Rosales was the most celebrated dancer of the modern world, and an aspiring opera star. But it was an open secret that Carmen’s family were major players in the Azul Cartel, Latin America’s most notorious criminal drug cartel who had been making strides in the United States for years as the only rivals to the Shepard Crime Family, who were now achieving greater power amidst the vacuum created by their fall. Despite the difficulties this put into her life, Carmen loved her family and was more than willing to help them achieve their goals so long as it didn’t interfere with her own creative dreams; often using her natural feminine willies to gain intel or get close enough to take out their rivals. And with the emergence of superheroes making things difficult for the cartel, Carmen eventually volunteered to help her family further by subjecting herself to Ryker’s experiments, gaining the ability to generate bursts of thermal energy through her mastery of rhythmic movement.

When Toonman's heroic efforts began making dents in the Cartel’s work in Vaudeville, Carmen was sent to distract the Animated Ace, appearing as a new coming hero and ally in arms but secretly using her charm to steer Toonman away from her family’s dealings. But despite his rather Tex Avery reactions around women, Toonman was not the person Carmen expected- not only was he an incredible dancer with the skill and passion for music that matched Carmen’s, but the Animated Ace was a genuine, charming and noble-hearted hero who was a step up from the usual creeps that only saw Carmen as a prize to be won. Carmen instead found herself smitten with Toonman, and eventually the turmoil of being torn between the love for him and her family eventually revealed the truth, leaving both burned at the heart. The two would continue to cross paths as both enemies and lovers, as Toonman hopes to show Carmen that there is more to her than she believes where she comes from.

Carmen’s callsign was given to her by Toonman, explaining that kissing her is both sweet and spicy like Paprika.

Powers/Abilities:

• Pyrokinesis - Paprika is able to generate and project thermal energy through her mastery of rhythmic movement (dancing).

Yep! That's right, Toonman has an official love interest now! We're very excited to introduce Paprika into the series, as the relationship between the two is something of a fusion of Spider-Man and Black Cat, Morticia and Gomez Addams, and of course Roger and Jessica Rabbit! :D
