Invisigoth: The Vanishing Outsider (Patreon)

Hey Guys! Got another new character to preview for you guys, and if you've been with us since the beginning you might recognize this one! This her is Invisigoth, a pastel goth ninja with the ability to manipulate her chi for complete invisibility.

ORIGIN

Born in America to an American mother and a Japanese immigrant father, Jessica Kimiko grew up in the USA but took great interest in the culture and history of Japan. In particular she loved the fashion scene of Tokyo. Jessica created her own unique style, which mixed pastel goth fashion with Japanese elements, and dreamed of one day showing off her look on the Tokyo streets.      When Jessica managed to land an English teaching job in Tokyo, she was excited at the prospect. She explored the city wearing her unique clothing and received many compliments. She also tried tons of authentic local cuisine, explored various historical sites, and learned whatever she could about life in Japan.  Once the honeymoon period wore off, however, Japan became less and less enjoyable for Jessica. Even though she was half Japanese, she was always treated as a Gaijin and never really felt fully at home. Furthermore even though her fashion got her some compliments when she modeled it on the streets, whenever she was doing anything else it only earned her strange looks and poor treatment. Jessica was in love with Japan, but Japan wasn’t in love with her, and that fact made her slip into depression. She considered backing out of her teaching contract early and heading home to America.

One night, however, she took a wrong turn down an alley and witnessed a man dressed all in black attempting to kill another man who had been badly injured. She body slammed the attacker, and even though she didn’t badly hurt him, he fled when she began shouting for help and the injured man was saved. The man she had saved, as it turned out, was a ninja. The age of ninjutsu in Japan had never ended, it simply withdrew into the shadows and had gone mostly undetected for centuries. The man was a member of the Yokai clan of ninjas, and a member of a rival clan had been trying to kill him. Feeling that he was honor bound to Jessica for saving her, and took her back to his clan whom he instructed to teach her in the clan’s secret chi manipulation arts. Reluctantly they agreed, because the man was an elder clan member, but they never really liked Jessica. Jessica was taught how to fight with chi and also to make herself invisible to the human eye. She still felt isolated, but she now had one loyal friend: the man she had saved.

Jessica thought that maybe if she could save more people then those people might accept her as well, and so she decided to take the name Invisigoth and began saving people from criminals. Saving people gave her the sense of purpose that she had lost when Japan hadn’t lived up to her hopes and dreams. She continues to train with the Yokai clan, hoping that one day they’ll accept her. She also regularly travels back to America to see her family and is active there as a superhero as well.

Powers/Abilities

• Chi Manipulation - Invisigoth has the ability to manipulate her chi for various ways, such as:
  • Invisibility - by focusing her chi, Invisigoth can become completely invisible to the visible spectrum.
  • Invisible dimension - while Invisible, the world around her changes to that of a misty, negative space.
  • Chi Infusion - Invisigoth can channel her chi into her weapon of choice, a Kanabo club, which allows her to deliver powerful blows to bigger opponents.
• Yokai ninja trained in stealth, ninjutsu, gymnastics and martial arts.
• Carries a small ensemble of ninja tools, such as smoke bombs and caltrops.
