What did you think of the premiere episode of HOT D? Here's the livestream discussion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTrt37zrDXk

We're doing a livestream like this every Sunday at ~10:15pm Eastern time.

And now we're working on an Explained video to summarise and analyse the episode – I expect it'll be done sometime around Thursday or Friday.

Thanks for your support!

My question about it is how awkward would it be watch with family and or not that close friends? I like boobies so much, but I still remember the awkwardness of showing got s1 e1 to my parents. Now I have a unique opportunity to bring my newish friends and roommates who are not that familiar with game of thrones to watch it weekly with me and I don't want to make the movie night too awkward.

Enjoyed the livestream. I was scarred after the final few years of GoT, so I’ve deliberately kept my anticipation low for this series. But it was SO nice to be back in Westeros again! It was a hole in my viewing that needed filling. I felt like some of the ‘lore’ references were slightly shoe-horned into place - for example the bath scene - but I can live with that. The Aegon prophesy was the biggest of those, but I didn’t actually mind it either. It raises an interesting question of when a story or prophesy is passed down verbally from lord/king to heir. What happens if the king and heir die at nearly the same time? Is the prophesy not passed on? I can imagine part of this series will be about how Aegon’s prophesy is lost as one of the worst outcomes of the DotD. Come to think of it, is this very different to “There must always be a Stark in Winterfell”? We don’t know why there must always be a Stark in Winterfell, but speculation is it’s about the WW. Was this lost when Lord Rickard and Brandon died together, or some other time in the last 8,000 years?
