House of the Dragon & Alt Shift X: what to expect (Patreon)

After taking a break, we’re back. (The Patreon was paused in July, so you weren’t charged for that month).

On August 21, House of the Dragon begins – the new Game of Thrones prequel show. Immediately after each episode airs, at about 10:15pm Eastern time Sundays, there’ll be an Alt Shift X livestream talking about the episode. (If you can't watch live, you can watch later on the ASX YouTube channel). Then later in the week, there’ll be a “House of the Dragon S1E0X Explained” video analysing the episode – like back in the GOT days. The Explained videos won’t include major spoilers from the books – might do a separate extra livestream/video for spoilery talk after each episode. Maybe some podcasts with special guests too.

But yeah there’ll be a livestream and an Explained video each week. There'll also be an introductory video, “House of the Dragon: everything you need to know”, introducing the characters and world, to come out in the next couple weeks. This show has a lot of blond people with very similar names in a very complex family tree, so I think these videos will be very helpful in explaining what’s going on and what it all means. George Martin is very excited about HOT D, and if it’s as good as he says, we’re in for a fun time.

After the season ends in October, I’ll probably take a break / lie on the floor for a few weeks. Then, we’ll make a “real Jon Snow” video, as chosen in a Patreon vote. We'll make more ASOIAF videos, and hold more Patron votes to choose topics. In 2023, Dune Part 2 will come out – so we’ll make more Dune videos. Will finish “The Philosophy of Dune” video at some point. Maybe some more non-fiction videos. And if more Game of Thrones spinoff shows get made, we’ll cover them too (if they're good lol).
