Leviathan Wakes update (Patreon)

The Leviathan Wakes design is about done – so now we're finalising the script before recording audio. It covers the plot of The Expanse Book 1, analyses the main characters and themes, and includes some cool connections and Easter eggs you might not know about. It's about ~15 minutes long, accessible to non-Expanse fans, and it'll be out for Patrons in the next couple days (:

It's been fun making references and connections to classic art in this video – Hieronymus Bosch, Cervantes, Léon Belly, the sitcom Friends – all the greats. Also, I got to chat some more with Expanse co-author Daniel Abraham - it was really cool discussing how Leviathan Wakes was influenced by Jeff VanderMeer's novel Annihilation, which we also did a video about. Both novels explore the influences of alien forces on human biology - Daniel used the term 'identity horror'. (If you're into weird short stories, you've gotta check out this anthology).

Once Leviathan Wakes is done, we'll hold an ASOIAF topic vote, and make those videos on Game of Thrones S1E01 and Essos.
