Leviathan Wakes, GOT S1E01, Essos (Patreon)

The Leviathan Wakes video will be out for Patrons in about a week. We’ve thoroughly analysed the book chapter-by-chapter, distilling the key plot points and themes into a concise, accessible script. We’ve picked through the corresponding 15 episodes of the show for all the best imagery. And, schedules permitting, we’ll be consulting further with Expanse co-author Daniel Abraham. So basically we’ve ASX’d the shit out of this book, and it’s gonna be great. The level of research, notes and video clipping we’ve done serves as a super solid foundation for any future Expanse videos – we could easily do videos on book-show differences, Avasarala’s arc, etc., as well as the later books and seasons. But once this Leviathan Wakes vid is done, we’ll put the Expanse aside for time being, and return to GOT/ASOIAF.

We wanna do videos about early GOT episodes, starting with S1E01 – recapping, comparing to the books, discussing connections and theories, and speculating on GOT S8. In S1E01 alone, there are so many cool things to talk about – white walker symbols, direwolves, Ned’s legacy, R+L=J hints, Benjen, Bran and Jaime, Illyrio and Varys, Arya’s excellent hat… There isn’t time to cover every episode from S1E01 up to S8 – but let’s start with S1E01, and see how it goes.

The Essos video is still sitting on the back burner – we’re waiting for artwork to be completed, and it’ll be well worth the wait. We’re commissioning some pieces specifically for the video, along with some beautiful work from Unseen Westeros and elsewhere. So it’ll be a while before this video’s out, but it’s a really special one.

We’ll hold a GOT topic vote once Leviathan Wakes is done, and the $5-Patron livestream will be on next week.
