What do you think of the new Westworld episode? Lots of questions raised about freedom and control through Maeve and Dolores. Many plot intricacies to unravel – Dolores' train, Maeve's voice, Teddy's fate, the Cradle, Bernard's persistent oddness… And of course the Japanese Shogunworld as a reflection of Westworld is pretty bloody gorgeous. What questions do you want answered?

For $5+ Patrons, we'll hold the monthly livestream later this week. It'll be a chance to chat about Westworld, and discuss some possible future video topics...

Maeve really shone in this episode, which was great considering how one-dimensional and boring Dolores is this year. Shogun World was refreshing and interesting, but so far from historical accuracy it wasn't really believable as a fantasy playground. Writer should have done more research and not simply rely on his projected Orientalism as the basis for this script!

The show has lost me now. The drama I enjoyed that came from questions about consciousness and identity has been replaced with personal motivations I don't really care about. Trudging to The Hatch, oh wait, I mean Glory isn't interesting because the characters are bots.
