Vote results, survey results, and upcoming videos! (Patreon)

Thanks to everyone who responded to the recent topic vote and survey!

The vote was close, with three topics leading the results. In equal second place were Bloodraven and the Doom of Valyria, both with 99 votes. But the winner, with 108 votes, is Jaime Lannister. This video will be similar to the recent Cersei vid – a detailed analysis exploring the history, themes and future of Jaime's character. Jaime has really come to the fore in the GOT show lately – so it'll be awesome to compare and contrast him with book-Jaime.

We also got heaps of responses to the Patron survey, and are using your input to steer the future direction of ASX. You guys are most keen for more GOT videos – and this of course will remain our main focus. The Jaime video will take a while, so the next GOT vid will likely be on Rhaegar. It's probably about time we did some more OG theory videos as well – maybe the pink letter or the hooded man?

The survey says that most of you also want non-GOT vids – with Westworld the most popular non-GOT show. So before Westworld Season 2 comes out, we'll make a Westworld Season 1 Explained video – and try to see what sense we can make of the series so far. Stranger Things Season 2 is coming soon, which may also be worth a video... And did you guys see the new movie Mother? Lots of cool symbolism there – maybe it's time for an Alt Shift X movie analysis (:

Based on your feedback, we've also reworked the Patron rewards. Most of you love getting videos early – so we'll now aim to give you at least 24 hours early access for most vids. Most of you are also keen for more Q&A livestreams – so we're starting a monthly Patron-only Q&A livestream for $5+ Patrons, answering your questions about ASOIAF and Alt Shift X and whatever else. We're also considering some new rewards for the top-tier Patrons...

So there won't be any new videos this month (the Patreon remains paused, no one will be charged) – but we're working on building a better Alt Shift X for our return in November. As well as planning these videos and Patron rewards, there's a lot of work going into the backend – studio, workflow, team – which will ultimately help make better videos more often.

Finally, it was really lovely reading through your feedback in the survey! So many nice comments and suggestions. Warms me shifty heart. So thanks for the support, and get keen for some awesome new videos to come!
