September Bonus #1: Famimaga Video Issue 4 [March 1989] (Patreon)
Content
Good morning, everyone, and welcome to a new month. I'm kicking things off for September with the first weekly bonus item—another issue of Famimaga Video. It remains interesting (at least to me) to see the gradual evolution of games in Japan during the latter Famicom days and to compare these releases to contemporary game launches in the U.S., currently under discussion in NES Works. There's a lot of baseball and Final Fantasy II here, but a shocking amount of content for Super Mario Bros. 3—including a full abbreviated run through of World 8. I do miss the vaporwave eyecatch lady from the first two tapes, but Famimaga makes up for it with more in-depth coverage of cool arcade titles (in this case, Operation Thunderbolt) and a new Gag Reel section filled with jokes and glitches. As always... enjoy.
