Here we go — another Game Boy World episode, and one that has nothing whatsoever to do with puzzles. (Outside of the Krang minigames.) I didn't enjoy Fall of the Foot Clan as much as I had expected to based on its reputation, I'm afraid, but it's still a breath of fresh air.

That said, I could use a little more fresh air. So, I'm taking a break from Game Boy World for a month or so to focus on some other video projects. Some new, some not. Please look forward to it.

Game Boy World #074: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan [Konami/Ultra, 1990]

Travel back to a time when "radical" was an innocent expression of joy rather than a loaded tool of political rhetoric. When America's hearts belonged to a quartet of adolescent amphibians named for Renaissance masters. When you could sell a portable console with a phoned-in belt-scroller.

Hmmm, I'll have to check out the third game now since you used the M-word. I'm curious to see your take on the second game. At the time of the release, I enjoyed it for what it was. (Especially compared to the only other comparable title, the awful The Amazing Spider-Man.) But, I played a lot more of the second game.

I remember this game looking and playing better than it actually is. Of course the last time I saw it in action was 1990 or 1991 so in this video it didn't quite live up to what I remember it to be. The music seems pretty fantastic, though.
