The latest video is here. This is... the longest GN yet. And somehow, that distinction belongs to a video about Clu Clu Land!? Well, you'll see.

I'll be in Milwaukee for Retronauts this weekend, which means I won't have time to put together a Good Nintentions episode for next week — but I'm determined to maintain my weekly video schedule, so I'll try to come up with something. If you happen to be at MGC, be sure to come see my panels! (I'll also be interviewing the dudes who found the Nintendo Play Station.) And I think there's a Retronauts meetup Saturday night? Who knows!

Good Nintentions #008: Clu Clu Land [Nintendo, 1985]

Pac-Man? Everybody loves that guy! Nintendo loved Pac-Man so much it made two games just like it, and this episode looks at the pair: Both Clu Clu Land and its import-only sibling, Devil World. Their similarities and differences speak volumes about the game company Nintendo was shaping up to be.

I think I read somewhere that the ingot sprites in Clu Clu Land were reused as rupees in The Legend of Zelda. (Or vice versa?)
