The one up-side to this is that I'm basically all alone in an unfamiliar city for a week with only a few obligations to worry about outside of USgamer, so I should have LOTS of time to work on projects. My main goal now? Get the Good Nintentions book (the expanded revamp of GameSpite Quarterly 5) done by the NES's 30 anniversary in three weeks. I've been plugging away at this thing for months, and it's shaping up! Though I still have a lot of writing to do, the layout and indexing (the most time-consuming parts) are complete.
This book has at least 50% more content than GSQ5 (if not more) and a much nicer, full-color layout that shows off all the photography I created of NES games and paraphernalia for a B&W project. I've included a 45-page sample (out of 320 pages!) that you can compare to the PDF of GSQ5 to get a sense of just how much bigger this version is than the original — every entry has been expanded, there are many new entries, the order of items is much closer to chronological, and there's a complete chronological index of NES releases running throughout the book. This is easily the biggest project I've ever put together, and I hope to have it wrapped up soon! Those of you at the book-PDF backing level and higher will hopefully have it in-hand by Oct. 18... here's hoping I can pull it off.
