Had to get this episode up early since there's no telling what my power and internet situation will be for the next week or so. Hurricanes, man.

This look at Pro Wrestling should give you an idea of what I have in mind for the revamped format for Video Works, as it touches on three games rather than one. Pro Wrestling, the main feature, gets about 8 minutes of dedicated dissection, while both Soccer and Volleyball get 2-3 minutes apiece. The idea isn't to shortchange less interesting games but rather for me not to have to strain myself trying to come up with a full episode around something like, well, Soccer. This format actually requires a fair bit of extra work for me, but I think it will preserve my (and your?) sanity in the long run.

Pro Wrestling retrospective: Amazon delivers pain | NES Works #037

We're reaching the end of Nintendo's Black Box series of releases, and Pro Wrestling shows why: The NES library evolved beyond the basic experiences contained within the early Black Boxes. In this case, we have a remarkably well-designed wrestling game loaded with personality and memorable characters. Quite a change from all those earlier NES wrestling games... Also in this episode: Brief looks at Soccer and Volleyball.

I'm digging the revised format, but feel bad for the extra work you need to do in order to truncate the less significant releases. As long as you feel it's a happy compromise, please continue as is. It's a good approach by having the meatier NES game have a couple "meh" sports games attached to the end. Do you think you will do the same to your Game Boy videos?
