The final Game Boy Works episode of 2017 is… the first episode of 2014. Since I'm in the process of remastering the first two books with new photos and new screenshots from fresh video capture, this seemed like a good opportunity to begin an overhaul of my very old Game Boy World videos, which definitely do not feel up to current standards. I won't be making a regular thing of these remasters, but for weeks where (for example) I'm trying to squeeze in a little time off while also buried up to my ears in a book project… they're a nice softball project.

Anyway. Thank you all for your support this year. I will do my best to make 2018 even better, and I hope you'll be along for the ride!

Alleyway retrospective [remastered]: Game Boy's breakout title | Game Boy Works #001

A top-to-bottom do-over of the very first Game Boy Works episode, bringing the series' debut up to current production standards. It's a look at the first of Game Boy's four launch titles in Japan, a standard Breakout-style block-smashing game with a few small fun touches. Nothing incredible as games go, but as a transitional work between Game & Watch and the Game Boy, its limitations are certainly understandable.

I was surprised to discover that I haven’t already downloaded this before on virtual console. Doing so now!
