Alright, the chronicles of the NES library continue this week! Starting with... oh dear. It's our very first game published by a third-party, and it does not set a high bar for future prospects.

Well, we had a good run, right?

M.U.S.C.L.E. retrospective: It's third party and I'll cry if I want to | NES Works #027

The NES gets its very first game from a third-party publisher, and... it really makes you pine for relative classics like Urban Champion and Stack-Up. TOSE and Bandai assault the sense with this vaguely wrestling-like brawler based on the M.U.S.C.L.E. Things toyline and Kinnikuman anime. The Nintendo Seal of Quality finds itself stretched to the breaking point in its very first outing.

I'll say one nice thing about M.U.S.C.L.E.: I like the logo. It feels VERY of its time, and the "M" extending into a flexed arm is a nice touch.
