Hey everyone! Here's everything I worked on during the month of February, exclusively for patrons.

General development

I didn't get as much time as I wanted in February to work on my software projects, so a few big tasks have stacked up. Here's what I'm planning to work on over the coming weeks:

1. Wii Shop Music Extension. The shutoff date for Manifest V2 browser extensions in Google Chrome is a few months away, and Wii Shop Music Extension is my only remaining extension that needs to be updated to V3. I was waiting as long as possible because some required APIs were missing in the initial V3 spec, but a port should now be doable (and I don't have a choice now). I did some initial planning and code cleanup in February, but the bulk of the work still needs to happen.

2. Nexus Tools. There are a few bugs in the current version of Nexus Tools, mostly on Windows. I'm still deciding if it makes sense to continue supporting it, or if other installation options (e.g. Brew on macOS) are suitable alternatives and it doesn't make sense for me to reinvent the wheel and try to support a multi-platform installer.

3. Share to Mastodon. I have a few minor fixes and improvements already finished for Share to Mastodon but haven't rolled them out in an update yet. That should be pretty easy!

I've spent the past few months primarily working on Link Cleaner and ImageShare, so those apps are stable enough to leave alone for a while as I work on that backlog. I'd also like to eventually get around to updates for PhotoStack and Wikipedia Search, but those also don't really have any issues right now, so that's lower down on the list of priorities.

The Spacebar

I published 4 articles on The Spacebar in February:

- The problem with standalone VR and "spatial computing"
- Cable can't compete with 5G home internet, so it's cheating
- Meta's fake Quest VR ads aren't a great answer to the Vision Pro

I also started working on what will (probably) be my longest article to date, but I'm not sure when it will be ready. I mainly want to focus on the software stuff this month :)

Tech Tales

There was a new episode of the Tech Tales podcast this past month! I talked about the rise and fall of Google AMP and how it impacted media publications. Adam Conway, an editor at XDA and a very cool person, joined me as a guest.

You can subscribe to Tech Tales on most podcast platforms and apps, and there's an RSS feed to plug into your player of choice.
