Peek + PhotoStack updates (Patreon)

Hi all!

I haven't written a post here in a while, so I wanted to give a quick update on what I've been up to for the past month or so.

Peek 3.1

I recently released Peek 3.1, which is a very minor update that mostly just updates the libraries that Peek uses behind the scenes. Opera previously rejected Peek 3.0 because of outdated libraries, and since 3.1 has no functional changes (except a new loading icon that appears on some document previews), this update is only going out to Opera users for now.

I'm hoping to work more on Peek soon, and the next feature update will go out to all browsers as normal. Peek is available for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.

PhotoStack Android app

My batch photo editing application, PhotoStack, is now available for Android devices from the Google Play Store! It's identical to the web app, but with the added bonus of home screen shortcuts and slightly-easier installation.

PhotoStack importing

PhotoStack also received a few changes to how it imports images. First, PhotoStack now detects what image formats your browser supports for editing (usually PNG/JPG/GIF/WebP) and only allow you to import those, which should prevent some bugs/crashes during export.

Second, PhotoStack can now read ZIP files and Microsoft Office documents. When you select one, PhotoStack extracts the images from the file and imports them. This is super handy for importing images downloaded from Google Photos, Dropbox, and other file storage services. This should also work for any other container files that use the ZIP format, like Android APK files.
