“See you around then!” is fine actually. I argue it works better here because there’s no set date for a meet up. It implies they’ll just run into each other next time. Just add a comma to say “See you around, then!” so as to not indicate ‘then’ as a place or time, but as dismissal. “See you then!” is what you say to someone after making plans.

"Time flys" just adding an "s" corrects the tense and "See you around then!" is fine, adding a comma does help too "See you around, then!"
