Warning ! Don't open and scroll on these posts if you want to keep the surprise for the final Chapter 4 release.
Today, I was back at work on the game!
During my time off, I took a week and a half to polish more of the previous chapters. Most of the work consisted of revising the textboxes.
This version of Rpg Maker doesn't really indicate to the user when to go onto the next line when writing text. As we are using a custom resolution, I had the bad idea to not test the lenght of the textboxes and just guess when I should stop.
As a result, many of the text in chapter 1 to 3 was displayed in a weird way compared to the size of the textboxes. So! I took a week to go back to all the dialogues and replace the text properly.
I also edit out a lot of the action between * * in the early chapters like *blushing* *smiling*, etc. It does feel a bit amateurish when it's not necessary.
It's mostly invisible work, but in the meanwhile, I also did some graphics corrections. For example, there's some changes on the Intro of the game.
And I also took an afternoon to do the last of the graphic assets needed for this chapter : Fiona's diaper bag.
KKBunny, whom I commission for the Fiona segment finished the picture!
And during the time off, I also work a little bit on the aftermath of the final Fiona scene in the Control room.
As you see, the Hanners sisters and Fiona meet again!
As for today, I mainly worked on a scene at the Nursery. This time, Eclair discover the TV program that Fiona choose for her. And it's not what she expected...
Drawing the spiral and figuring a way to integrate that as an animation in the game took me way too long. Rpg Maker isn't really made to have something like that animated.
Usually, you can trick the program by making pictures appear and disappear but I had to have dialogues and bustsets on top of the animation, so this method didn't work. Finally, I found a way and the final result is pretty cool even if it happen just for a short amount of time.
The choice of the TV program will lead, as usual, to little differences in dialogue and details.
And that was all for today!
Next week, I plan to work on the end of the Nursery segment! See you next week, as usual!
