Still alot of work to be done, but currently in colouring and shading stage. This is where I'm feeling a bit conflicted about using Clip Studio Paint for the comics.

The vector making tool I used to work with all the time in Photoshop just isn't there and I'm kind of forced to adopt a new shading method that feels extremely tedious, time consuming, and clunky. Basically how I'm doing it is "lining" the boundaries of the shading first before filling it in. I then use the selection gamut tool on it and add in a textured shade on a seperate layer set to multiply.

Unless I find a more efficient method, it's really gonna take me some time to get used to. But I really want to make this work and I'm determined to figure it out as I go.

I use CSP, and admittedly never explored too many tool options, so my most efficient method is what you've mostly described. I make simple use of clipping layers on character color layers, then draw the outer shape of shadows before filling them in with the magic wand and fill tool that appears in the selection options. The only shortcut for this for me has been using clipping layers to save time on not needing to draw inside of the lines of characters when building the shadows.

This appears to be how most people do it, yes. However, doing it quickly might take some practice for me.
