Hey guys! I hope you are having a good day!

There’s a little update regarding Symmetra. It’s a two-side update though.

On one side, we have the proper news: I did it. I’ve effectively merged the robotic arm and the Daz figure. It was really surprising, but it was done.

Honestly after all the hassle, I was wondering if it was even necessary. I didn’t notice, but the arm is not only the arm, is also part of her shoulder. This is like a real life arm prosthetic and not like a futuristic sci-fi prosthetic, making me wonder if the hassle was even worth to begin with. I can think of a few ways to avoid merging and just keep it joined, but still, I think Merging it was the better choice, specially for the Weight Transfer and Lighting issues segment.

Also, the idea I had was right, and I was able to make an hybrid armature, so now she has the regular Daz on one arm and the original arm rig on the robotic arm. It was the most sane thing to do by a long shot.

On that regard, there are a couple of compromises that need to be made:

- Because it is a different arm, any poses you do on that arm won’t work on other of our Daz models. From the forearm and below, the rig and bone location is different.

- I tried to the best of my abilities so the robotic arm would deform as close as possible to the original rig. So posing might be slightly funky on the elbow area.

That’s on one side. On the other side, the model is still not clear enough. You see, I mentioned that her arm is an actual prosthetic, so Blizzard, in order to model a character efficiently, they made the prosthetic part of her outfit. This means, her outfit now has a big ass irregular hole on her left side. The other hand is fully modeled, however, I don’t think it would fit since the texture is not, ironically, symmetrical.

The arm has parts of the outfit as well, so that would more or less mean I would need to fit very specific parts of the outfit near that area. Fortunately, I did a quick UV edit on the prosthetic before doing texture blending, so that part is also clear.

Ironically, the absolute hardest part is done, but who would have thought that the outfit would be a dragon by itself.

Symmetra is still miles to go, so once I'm done with the top of the outfit, I would say it would be in a more clear spot. I'm looking forward for that though, if things just don't look clear and gets way too complicated, I will just slap a DOA bikini and call it day lol
