Known Issues

Clipping

The model’s outfit is very complex even though it’s from an old game. Most of the clipping has been avoided, but some should still be present, please use the helper bones for easier posing.

Funky apron thing rigging

As I mentioned in a post, that thing wasn’t rigged. I decided to make a quick rig of it to make it a little easier to pose. It’s not perfect by any means or stretch of the imagination, but it works good enough imo.

Incomplete Pants

Because she has the apron thing, they decided to not fully build a set of pants on her, so it’s extremely recommended to not use a pants-only bodygroup setup.

General Model Information (very important to read)

As I mentioned before, this model has all 6 color schemes for both her model and outfit. The model color schemes may affect the skin tone, the color of the eyes, or both.

In here, we have a total of 3 models, here’s their suffixes:

  • Outfit: Contains the full outfit. It has all 1 to 6 color schemes (in SFM’s case: 0 to 5)
  • 1_3: Contains the color schemes from 1 to 3 (or in SFM’s case: 0 to 2)
  • 4_6: Contains the color schemes from 4 to 6 (or in SFM’s case: 3 to 5)

Both models work equally, however, because of material limitation, it was decided that this is the best course of action for the model in order to have all color schemes working.

Here’s a list of things that you should know about the color schemes:

  • In some color schemes, the color of the eyes is changed.
  • In some color schemes, the skin tone is changed.
  • In all color schemes, the hair color is changed.
  • Color Scheme 2 and 4 (from 1 to 6) have a unique skin tone change.
  • Color Scheme 1,3,5,6 (from 1 to 6) share the same skin tone, but have changes in the hair and eyes color.

Other information (not needed but would be cool if you read it)

This model might be the best model I’ve ever released, even if she doesn’t have those long sleeves that, as I’ve said before, serve no purpose other than giving clipping nightmares. She has a lot of experiments under her sleeves (on-paste edit: Jesus christ this wasn’t a pun, I swear):

- My initial though of re-rigging her face was challenged by an idea I had in the middle of eating. My testing proved the idea to be effective, so instead of spending many hours on face rigging, I only spent 1 hour testing Weight Modifier combinations via a convenient Blender Python code I wrote, making the rig fixing pretty easy.

- By using the figure I use for Toon/Low Detail characters, we could have get stuck with what I think are pretty bad looking nipple textures. I tried my best to do a nipple texture transplant and instead of using our Toon Figure nipple texture, I used Victoria 7’s texture. I think the result wasn’t half bad, honestly. I really liked how it looked.

- When my self-destructive self-critic side taunted me for not including the color schemes for the skin tone (the original idea was to only include them on the outfit,) I sit down, closed everything, and instead of getting sad and angry, I started to develop a way to unbake the shadows in all 6 color schemes without having to do it manually 6 times. The develop idea not only helped me unbaking the shadows on all skins, in theory, it should translate 100% perfect into the Daz Texture, and it did. So instead of having to spend god knows how many hours with manual shadow unbaking and texture blending, I had all Torso and Head textures done in 30 minutes.

I didn’t want to mention this because I don’t want you guys to get the wrong impression of me, but I truly believe it needs to be said: models like this are the reason why Practice Models are a thing. I poured my heart and soul on this model because not only I’m a fan of Darkstalkers games, I absolutely love this character. I did a lot, and I mean A LOT of things to have this model have these features I mentioned. This model has given me a truly genuine excitement of releasing a model I haven’t felt in a long while. It’s that excitement that says “I’m incredibly happy I built this model, I can’t wait for people to see it!”

I hope you guys enjoy using this model just as much as I enjoyed working on her. She’s a great character. Yes, she might not be a top tier fighter, but she’s top tier where it truly matters.
