Pausing the page until March. Still regular activities. (Patreon)

Hey guys! First of all, I’m sorry for not being able to post everything on time this month. I haven’t feeling pretty well, so I’m basically trying to do everything as normal as I can do it. This post is going to be filled with a lot of information, so I hope you guys read this post in its entirety.

So, after too much thinking, I’ve came to a conclusion I’d like to share with you: Starting this month, the Patreon page is going to get paused until February is done. This means none of you is going to get charged by this page on December, January, and February. I honestly don’t want to dig into the details as I feel like they are pretty personal, but I though it was the best course of actions.

Now, one of the problems of doing this is pretty simple. A lot of Patreon guys say they are always worried to lose Patrons, however, I am not worried of losing patrons because of two things:

1) You guys are not going to get charged, which means you can remain a Patron without having to worry of getting charged without getting any models back.

2) You guys are still going to get models back, but this time is going to be different.

This long Patreon Pause is going to be used for the following reasons:

Emotional health

Recently I’ve been feeling pretty bad because of the models. For some reason, I fear the quality of my models is going to the toilet even though I’ve seen people using my models and saying they actually love the models, which is always reassuring.

I feel most of this comes from the fact that I’m building models that maybe I don’t have any interest to build, and when the model gives issues to build then the feeling gets worse and worse. Like, if I’m honest, I’ve never felt the need of banning an entire series just because the outfits are something I rather not deal with until now. That attitude needs to change. A friend has suggested that maybe I’m burned out, but I don’t think that’s the case. I hope is not.

Fixing rough edges

This one is pretty simple. After the whole mess of the Hard Drive dying and losing access to every site I used to manage, the models of this Patreon page have effectively turned into models behind a paywall. That is not what I want. That is not the reason I started this Patreon to begin with.

With deviantArt getting changes and SFMLab giving me upload problems and the weird rules of some sites where you need an account to watch forum posts, I feel like I’m running out of places where I can make the models public.

Recently, I found out about a patron of mine who happens to be a user of a site I wanted to post. I want to talk with that user and see if I can get some help about the site, or maybe, get a permission to use the site. I’m not giving any details because I don’t want people to force or persuade the user to give me the permission I'm looking for.

Build Practice Models

This one is part of the emotional health in a way. One of the reasons I want to dedicate this time only to practice models is because Practice Models are chosen by me. They are, basically models I want to build. I hope this doesn’t come out as an egoist wish, that is not my intention. I want to feel that excitement of finishing a model I wanted, and while there are models that I wanted to build that have been chosen thanks to you guys, there are models that I want to build by my choice. To be honest, that is one of the excuses I came up with Practice Models to begin with. That’s why Practice Models are released without any extra costs to you guys: because if I’m going to strip all of you from the choice, then I need to compensate you guys back.

Even though some people didn’t want to voice their opinions, there are times where some people say “if you don’t say anything, you are saying yes.” Some patrons have voiced their opinions, and they agree for the changes with the models. This means, starting from the Practice Models, every single model is going to get the proposed changes.

I’m going to use the Practice Models as an entry point for you guys to see the works of the new models and the Rig Script.  

Because of the changes made and because the Patreon page is going to be paused all the way to February, this means starting March, the pricing of the models is going to change at full price. There is not going to be a gradual 3-month increase. I hope you guys can understand this.

About the Practice Models.

In the past, I’ve been adamant about not revealing what Practice Models I want to build, however, since I’m doing this, I think it’s fair to give you guys a simple list:

Juri Han

Reason of practicing: I want to keep practicing the SFV figure. This is also the really fucking belated birthday present for a friend.

Karin… whatever her last name is

Reason of practicing: This is a present from me to a very dear friend who loves SFV’s Karin. That’s it. Frankly, when it comes to my closest friends, I don’t think I need a reason to build a model, I’ve made present models for friends in the past, and that won’t change.

Hsien-Ko

Reason of practicing: Normally, I would say none because I would build this model no matter what because she’s my favorite character from Darkstalkers, however, the extracted models come with a rigged face, however, the rig is pretty bad. This means this model needs to get either rig fixes or needs to be rigged again, so I guess I will learn more face rigging with this.

Symmetra

Reason of practicing: I want to learn how to deal with her robotic arm. It’s going to be a mess, but I want to learn how do deal with it. I have hopes if I learn how to work with them, I might be able to work with weird-limbed-characters like Tali’Zorah or whatever her name is.

While I mentioned I wanted to make a list of practice models, I feel like there are some that I would love to remain secret just to spice things up. Here's some info.

Reason of practicing: The reason why I want to practice it, is because the model doesn’t come with any face rig whatsoever, so I want to use it as an excuse to learn face rig. To be honest, this model was the one who made me want to learn how to rig faces.

Clue: she doesn’t have a regular skin color. Don’t try to guess it, you won’t land it.

Reason of practicing: none. I think this model came to the scene at the wrong time. I think she has a lot of potential, the issue is, however, when she initially was released, she had a ton of rigging problems, or so I remember. I hope to give her the chance she deserves to be in the scene.

Clue: she’s asian.

Reason of practicing: none. I actually never played the game, but it caught my attention because her moves were incredibly suggestive at the time. Yeah, maybe not Bayonetta’s “literally fuck me” suggestive, but still suggestive.

Clue: She wears an armor.
