Sorry I didn’t write yesterday’s post. I was not feeling well and, well, I’m writing this before going to get my lab results. Not going to get too much into it, but good wishes are always welcome!

But anyway, to what we are all in here: UPDATES!

But… what about Castanic gal?

Ok, serious time. Let’s talk about her.

I was hoping to have her ready last week, however, like I was saying, I wasn’t feeling well health wise. Still, I did my best to keep working on her. Until the shoes.

One of the reasons many outfits become a nightmare to fit, is because the original modellers doesn’t really pick “coherent designs.” Granted we are using a big breasted body for her, but still. The issue came when I had to fit her shoes. As soon as I loaded the model, I realized this might not work as expected: The castanic model had her feet extremely bent. 

I think it’s safe to say feet doesn’t bend like that. And it’s not pretending I know about proportions, it’s because Genesis 3 Female bodies feet just don’t bent like that. You can only bend enough until it looks you actually dislocated your feet bones.

Still, I tried to fit it. It was a huge nightmare. My original idea was to pose the feet, then have it on the compiled model so once you load her, you load that pose and her shoes would be on like magic. After many hours of trying and fitting and throwing away the work and trying again and sweating and crying blood, I actually succeeded. 

If you follow me on Tumblr, you might have noticed yesterday I posted something that would have qualified as showing some disdain to Blender. As always, I saved my work and decided to continue the next day, only to find that Blender resetted the Castanic body’s pose, thus making the whole fitting pointless because I don’t have the original pose anymore. 

If there’s something that I would say in my opinion to be the most soul crushing thing that could happen in this area, is losing many hours of work. I’ve lost models, animations, projects and such where I invested tons of hours. It never stops being such a soul crushing experience.

I want to apologize if someone was looking for those particular shoes. I tried to get something from Daz, and I so I choose these shoes. They are not that bad in my opinion and fits the outfit pretty well. 

At the moment, I’m fixing some clipping, then I would go for texture work. I will try to finish this asap since we are against the clock.
