Mistcrown preview (Patreon)

Over the past couple of months, I planned and then began work on a visual novel named Mistcrown. It's a fantasy story using monochrome art and comic panels, similar to those Flash comics I used to do, though it also makes use of prose and dialogue like a normal visual novel. Here are some previews of the art as well as their sketches.

The art and writing for the first chapter is complete save for a few character portraits and the title page. I need to touch up the UI and add some sound work. The holidays are always hectic, but it shouldn't be much longer!

I'll go into way more detail below, but in short: The current tier of the Patreon isn't going to change, I'll just also release VN updates to it, and Mistcrown is a dark(ish) fantasy story that'll have some branching storylines down the road.

The VN

Mistcrown is a dark(ish) fantasy about a knight named Ser Emeric who has traveled to the Dusk Marches, a fallen kingdom enshrouded by a cursed mist, in order to lift the curse before it swallows other lands. The first chapter introduces him and Ivona the Witch, the first person to help his quest.

It's a story with an established protagonist rather than a blank slate, though the reader will be given choices at points to determine how he reacts. There is a main story with variable endings I'll focus on, but I intend to explore what-if options for certain choices that can be expanded on later based on interest.

My main goal is to produce more of what I want to see in lewd stories: Plot and character development to set up the raunchy scenes. I like more story to chew on when I read doujinshi or visual novels so that I care about the characters once they start knocking boots. That said, there will likely be adult scene(s) every chapter.

While the setting and story are very different, my older works Bibliophilia and Friends With Benifrits are a good idea of what I like to write, though this isn't solely a slice-of-life comedy.

Patreon Updates

The first release will be public with no wait. After that, I'll be posting chapters here first and publicly after a little while. I'll be adding higher tiers, but I'm intending to keep my $1 tier as-is regarding non-VN sketches. It'll also get each new update of the VN. Voting on side stories to explore (when that becomes relevant) and Mistcrown artwork previews/sketches will be on higher tiers.
