I’ll be honest hindsight and chance to re process the same scenes multiple times… I have grown some respect for Irene! She spent 3 years mostly in solitary with the only human interaction being the guard who brings her food, the guard who comes every once and awhile to torture her, and maybe her ex who (and this applies to all of them) calls her a monster! Then when she dragon-ups she kills only her extremely abusive ex and instead of going on a rampage like acnologia did she further secluded herself for 300 years! In fact including the erza story beats the only truly bad (and un provoked) thing she did was become seduced by Zeref and anything she would have done as a sprigan 12 and IMO her suicide is her saying I’m choosing my daughter’s life over my duty as a S12
