I loveee these movies!! The 2nd movie is the BEST imo. Rues death always makes me cry. And yes, she’s meant to signify Prim in a way. Since she was the same age, Katniss reacted so strongly because she also thought about the possibility of that being her sister. In the books we get that narrative, hard to convey that through just emotion lol

These movies are SO good. The Hunger Games series was THE cultural phenomenon series after Harry Potter and basically started the entire “YA dystopia” trend that saturated the book/movie market the past decade. But what’s important about The Hunger Games is that it made a POINT—the wealth disparity, the riots, the way the Capitol instills obedience by promising people that if they keep playing into a system rigged against them, a lucky few will get rich…like, this series was written to send message. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! As others have said, the second movie is absolutely the best, but they’re all incredibly solid.
