Byro is not overpowered. His magic has no offense so much like Asta from Black Clover he had to train his body to keep up with wizards. Power negation is a fairly common ability in anime since it is often considered the ultimate equalizer, beacuse characters born with overpowered abilities are forced to really on their physical strength and combat knowledge which can only be built through years of hard work and expereince. And don't forget it was stated that only 10% of the worlds popluation can use magic, so the other 90% would be completely unaffected by Byro's magic, but wouldn't stand a chance against almost any wizard. Also it's not a passive effect, he has to actively use it to block attacks, so he needs to be fast enough to react to each attack, this means Byro's magic is basically just a really good sheild.
