Every time I rewatch this, I notice and understand even more details and connections. "Unknown to death" is archer, "nor known to life" is Shirou. He never really lived his own life and he can never die, serving the counter force. An obvious one I know, but this time around that one really struck me. Also I love the line "just because you are correct doesn't mean you're right". In the end Archer and Shirou still share the same ideal. Archer just gave up on it, because he can never achieve it, while Shirou just now decided that it remains a valid ideal worth pursuing, even if he can never reach it. "I'm going to defeat the me that is you", the essence of every hero fighting his arch enemy. Only that Shirou actually is his own arch enemy symbolically and litterally. Fighting your potential future self in a landscape that makes your inner world a physical space in an ideological and physical battle at the same time ... wtf Type Moon that is way too meta to comprehend.
