First, let's go Fate! You might have heard this somewhere before, but to clear things up... The fandom separates the Fate series into 2: main timeline and the rest (spin offs etc.). So if you start off with Fate Zero, we're going through the main timeline. Fate Stay Night (FSN) - 2004 - is actually the first entry to the series. It's based on a visual novel with 3 main "routes" - branching story lines with different developments and main heroines. FSN is old and considered not up to standard with modern Fate series. I personally quite like it although it's kinda dated for today's viewing. Fate Zero is actually the prequel to FSN, but actually aired after FSN. So a lot of people suggested it first to watch. FSN Unlimited Blade Works (UBW) is one of "routes" in FSN. It's one of the best in the series due to Ufotable's production quality. It's actually made into a movie first... A lot of people liked it but they need more, hence the TV series. FSN Heaven's Feel trilogy movies are also one of the "routes". Great movies. The fandom is huge and can't seem to agree with anything. But starting with Fate Zero should do fine (not without issues, but acceptable). Have fun! Cause I'll have fun too re-watching with you guys.
