I have a feeling you guys might have issues the deeper you get into Fairy Tail. A major theme of the story is forgiveness and making amends. Fairy Tail has some of the best character development as well. I’d also like to say that you should never skip the so-called “filler” episodes. Most of them are based on omake chapters Mashima did for holidays and special issues. They have some great character moments and relationship development that you’ll be confused by if you skip. And I promise it’s never like Naruto where they pause in the middle of an arc for some flashback filler mission. The Fairy Tail filler is always between arcs and a lot of them have foreshadowing to future arcs. There’s only 2 filler arcs that aren’t in the manga, but Mashima helped do the story for both so they’re still canon and they’re referenced later on. One final thing, after the next two arcs, you’ll be clear to watch the first set of OVAs which are a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see more of your reactions. 🖤

I dunno, if they’re like most people they’re only gonna have problem in the final arc. That’s the point where the points most people hate FT for comes, I don’t like it much either. Which now that you look at it Mashima got the idea for EZ at that time. And wanted to start working on it asap, and it shows, EZ is some heat. Also I know the first filler arc is written by him, but I’m not sure about the second one. It’s only ever referenced in one episode, and not in the same chapter in the manga, unlike the first. Also it’s a bit boring and shit, I doubt Hiro would have written it, unless of course there’s some thing where he says he was involved. That’s just my opinion thou🤷

I actually quite like the second filler. It’s a fun romp and a nice breath of fresh air between 2 heavy arcs. I also think it adds to Lucy’s character a lot, making what she has to do later on that much more impactful. And I enjoy it when we get to spend time with more characters than just Natsu’s team. The Fairy Tail filler arcs aren’t that long either which is another good thing. The Bount arc in Bleach was brutal to get through. I didn’t think it was ever gonna end.

Yeah but I mean of course at first it's normal to be like "I can't forgive them for what they did", we all have that reaction, but like they said everyone can change and become better people. They understand the character development, which I agree is some of the best. So excited for the next arc:)

Untill this day i still dont get it why lots of people hate this show, like i dont really understand people taste, this anime just became bad for other people because the internet told them

Don't get me wrong, i love FT, but the arc "Key of the Starry Sky" almost made me drop the series. It's boring, between 2 of the greatest arcs on the whole series, and it's WAY too long. I hope they skip it tbh.

I think the only reason the writer didn't want to have Laxus involved in the Phantom Lord arc is because Laxus would've solo'ed the whole guild (elemental 4 + Gajeel included). GOD I forgot how much of a dickhead Laxus was at the beginning but he's still one of my fav characters

I didn't like it when Gajeel first joined either, but of course that was the intended effect, we were meant to dislike him, so Neel is right in thinking how he does / I don't blame him for doing so. But of course we're meant to dislike Gajeel, otherwise where will the room for character development be? ;) Y'all will grow to like Gajeel
