Oh boy... Okay, before I get into a "funny" story, let's talk about more dive maps!! This week I decided to get into mapping the dive maps for Route 11.  Dubbed as the Evergreen Trench:

I finished mapping the rest, but the other two maps aren't as interesting so I'll omit them for now. These underwater sections aren't too involved, though, there is a quest that can be done down here. You also don't want to miss out on some Z-Crystals that become available to you via dive as well. 👀👀👀. You may also notice that those weird structures from Route 6's dive area appears here too. Wonder what those are about 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

But I gotta be real. I really, really, really dislike mapping underwater areas. I like adding a lot of detail to my maps. Underwater areas make that so difficult because it's not like with forests where you can slam different color trees, or caves where you can liter the walls with gems. The best I could do here is make different colored seaweed grass, lol.

That coupled with the fact that working with dive in essentials... Well, it makes sense, but it's a pain in the ass to work with. Basically you have to line up two maps together so that the dive spots can send you to the right location. Which is fine, but you end up getting really weird looking maps in the editor because you have no freedom to do anything. You also can't stick multiple dive locations on the same map because of this. So each area takes up a map and I'm already running out of space.

Currently, while writing this, there are 600 maps in the game. 999 is the map limit. I definitely have enough to finish the game. It's post game that I'm worried about. There are ways around this issue but I know it's going to be too difficult for people to figure out, which will cause problems. SIGHS about it. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, I suppose.

Anyway... So a few people came to me yesterday about a specific issue during V11's release that involved Melia's relationship with the player. If you didn't know, depending on your relationship value, Melia would confirm whether or not she trusts you during her and Erin's segment. A lot of people said that she weirdly blurted out that she distrusted them for whatever reason. I merely chocked it up to them doing things that made her upset.

But recently a friend approached me (On behalf of their friend) with the exact same issue. He assured me that he had taken every possible action to make sure her relationship value was as high as it could be. When we checked his save file to see what her value was, it came out to -1. That, -immediately- told me that something was wrong somewhere. As of now, I don't believe it's possible to get a -1 with Melia. Unless you're using a really old file w/ event weirdness or whatever. I suspected that, somewhere,  instead of subtracting 1 from her value, the game was actually setting it to -1.

I was right.

Ame, Inuki, and I went on a scavenger hunt to find the event that was doing this and we found it.

This is right after you return to the past from the alternate timeline arc.

This little shit was the reason why Melia went from <:) to >:( in 2 seconds. For some reason she just... Really did not like that you joked with her here, lol. So if Melia turned on you randomly and you had no idea why... Well, there's your answer!! Fortunately, there will be a way to bring her value up drastically once again in the next version, but for now this has been fixed in the dev build. Oops.

Whatever, it's dealt with. It's over. I'm fine, really. I'm ok ;-;.

Anyway, that's all I have for you all this week. Thank you for supporting me, and as usual, I hope you all have a wonderful week <3
